Yesterday saw the official opening of our Rural Wellbeing garden on Falcon Lane near Ledbury. We were pleased to be able to welcome around seventy people from our local community to the event and they had the opportunity to tour the new garden as well as taste some of the tasty homemade soup and bread which our Creative Learning groups provided.

The garden funded by Tesco’s Bags of Help scheme has taken a year to plan, build and plant up. With the money we were awarded we have been able to build an activity area, sensory garden, vegetable plot and wildflower meadow. This will provide a space for disabled and vulnerable people to feel safe, take exercise, enjoy a garden and grow and eat local produce in their own community.

The opening ceremony of the garden culminated with a cutting of the ribbon which was performed by Tom assisted by Sharon Bricknell from our local Tesco store in Ledbury; Ledbury’s Mayor, Cllr. Elaine Fieldhouse and Kevin Salters, our Regional Director.

In his opening speech, Kevin thanked Tesco and everyone else that has been involved in the project and made it a success.
