Our fund raising takes many forms:  individuals organising cake stalls, sponsored events, donations and bequests, events, and grant applications. All efforts are always very much appreciated.

Fund raising can be fun and Salter’s Hill is fortunate to have a ‘Friends’ group, who meet regularly to organise events which raise money AND provide entertainment and enjoyment for those taking part.  One of the aims of this group is to provide social activities for the residents and tenants. Skittles matches and Discos are amongst the most popular, as well as an annual BBQ at which the sun always shines!

The funds raised as a result of this group’s activities are always given to directly benefit the people supported by Salter’s Hill; last year a very popular series of Summer workshops was organised where individuals could join in Music, Pottery or Drama activities. The group have also funded trips and equipment.

A number of events have become regular features on the Salter’s Hill calendar: there is usually a sponsored walk, and we have been fortunate enough to be allowed to collect on one of the days of the Cheltenham Gold Cup Week. The Friends of Salter’s Hill have also organised a garden sale which takes place during the Gorsley Flower Festival held each August  bank holiday, for which they collect items all through the year.
